UCAS application question?

Im applying for a photography course and im applying through route A so my application deadline is the 15th of Jan. The course requires a portfolio andi was wondering when i should send this, or will the college contact me to ask for it? I persume the college would have it before i attend the interview which can be anytime before the 31st of March? I dont know when my portfolio has to be done for, my guidance teache gave me the wrong dates and information so i tought i had more time than i actually do..im stressin out..please give me information!!
